Maihaugen open-air museum at a glance
Maihaugen is an open-air museum in Lillehammer. It has old log houses with turf roofs and furnished farm rooms. One ticket covers Maihaugen and Norges Olympiske Museum, the Norwegian Olympic Museum. In the high season of the Norwegian Postal Museum, 19 May to 11 October, that museum is part of the ticket too.
The price depends on the date. Tickets for 2026 have three season levels, with separate prices for the Christmas market. Buy a ticket for the day you plan to go, and read the notes below on hours and closed days first.

Maihaugen opening hours and closed days
What to check before you go.
Autumn hours
From 13 October to 27 November the museum is open Tuesday to Friday from 11:00 to 15:00 and Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 to 16:00. Monday is closed.
Other seasons
Summer and winter hours differ from the autumn hours. Look up the hours for your date on the day you plan, and do not carry the autumn times over to July.

These prices apply to the special bus and not to regular city buses.
